Chiropractic

chi·ro·prac·tic [ˈkī(ə)rōpraktər]

a system of complementary medicine based on the diagnosis and manipulative treatment of misalignments of the joints, especially those of the spinal column, that affect the nerves, muscles, and organs.

Chiropractic is different than massage and allopathic medicine because the focus is on the joints. Neither massage, nor muscule relaxants nor physiothereapy can releive the joint misalignment and fixation despite their claims. Masseuse or Physcial Therapists doing joint manipulation, do it either unlawfully or ineffectively. This begs the question, "Why do chiropractors adjust differently?" I can only respond in like fashion to religion....it has to do with discipline and maturity. Chiropractors using an adjusting instrument (activator) are duping patients into thinking that they are aligning joints. That is not the purpose of the technique. The activator is an energy release technique utilizing a minimum force and is marketed to minimize liability. Practitioners stating that the technique is "new school" are not being honest with the public. All schools teach various techniques and most research is done utilizing manual manipulation.* Those using it either don't know how to adjust manually or don't want to work that hard. I might add since they aren't doing much they generally don't charge much. As far as the chiropractor who just adjusts the upper neck, let me remind the public, that 95% of chiroprators adjust the full spine (that should be enough said), Again, this is a marketing ploy. However, like religion popularity takes precedence over convention.

I might add that if your chiropractor doesn't promote physiotherapy, massage and nutrtion then you are not getting the care that you deserve.
